Aerobic Bioremediation Reagent
Provect-ABR™ is a proprietary soil amendment engineered to create ideal conditions for the aerobic biodegradation of various organic compounds such as select pesticides and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs – including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, heating oil, bunker-C, and/or crude oil) that are present in contaminated soil, sediment or other solid wastes. It was developed by scientists at Provectus using their knowledge gained from decades of experience in the field of applied environmental biotechnology (Mueller et al., 1989, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997; Pritchard et al., 1993).
The reagent is manufactured in the USA and Taiwan. It is packaged in 25 kg bags or 1 metric tonne supersacs. It is applied as a dry powder that governs pH, maintains soil moisture, and yields an optimized balance of major, minor and micronutrients which collectively stimulate the catabolic activity of indigenous microflora (no inoculation is required).
Provect-ABR has been successfully applied to treat TPH-impacted soils in North America, South America and Ocean Asia. It has been the subject of multiple independent, third-party evaluations which concluded that it provided the most rapid, safest, effective and cost-effective remedial option evaluated.
- Example material requirements and cost (excluding shipping and application) are summarized below:
1 MT soil = 1,000 kg
32,000 mg TPH/kg soil average impact
Remedial Action Objective = 1 MT soil @ 31,500 mg/kg = 32 kg TPH to remove
Add Provect-ABR, till and irrigate for an estimated 4 to 6 week period
Total Provect-ABR required at 2% soil mass basis = 20 kg/MT @$1.65/kg list price = $33/MT
